Sofiandi, BA., MHI., Ph.D was bornin September 5, 1975, in Dabo Singkep, Kepulauan Riau, Indonesia. He went to Pondok Pesantren Daarul Rahman, South Jakarta, Indonesia for his secondary school. He pursued his degree at the University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan and graduated with B.A. degree in Islamic Studies in 1998. Upon graduation, he worked as a tutor in Pondok Pesantren Ummul Quro, Bogor, Indonesia and SMU Dwi Warna, Parung Indonesia. He then enrolled at the University of Ibnu Khaldun, Bogor, Indonesia in 2002, where he was awarded the M.H.I in Muamalah/Islamic Economics in 2004. He finished Ph.D in Technology Management, in UTHM, Malaysia, 2019.Thereafter, he taught Islamic Studies, Islamic Economics, Arabic Language, as well as Philosophy at the Islamic Economics Faculty of the Institut Agama Islam Arrisalah Sei Guntung, Riau, Indonesia. He is also an active lecturer at several institutions such as the Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri Sultan Abdul Rahman, Riau, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Tarbiyah Hidayatullah, Batam, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Mitra Bunda, Batam, Universitas Riau Kepulauan, Batam, as well as the head of Sekolah Tinggi Ekonomi Bisnis Islam. He is currently a member of the Indonesian Islamic Economics Society (MES), the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economics Scholars (IAEI), the Batam Muballigh Union (PMB), the Indonesian Lecturer Association (ADI), and the Batam City Education Board (DPKB), as well as the Indonesian Association of Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI)
