All through my life I have always been
working in 2 fields which are language and music.
In language, I have a 15-year experience as Interpreter & Translator in Esmod Jakarta (France-based fashion school), where I used to have the responsibility to handle all kind of oral & written translations in French-Indonesian-English, such as:
- Lectures given by French expatriate lecturers
- All teacher-student verbal exchanges in class
- Seminars & workshops given by guest speakers
- Jury sessions in competitions & students' final projects
- Training for local teachers in Esmod Paris
- International meeting of all Board of Directors from Esmod schools worldwide
- Lecturing materials, student projects, agreements, contracts, project proposals, communication & marketing tools, publications, announcements, signboards, letters, e-mails, etc.
My long & intense experience in consecutive interpreting led me to participate in some occasional simultaneous interpreting such as World Movement of Democracy, 6th Assembly (2010) & World Export Development Forum (2012). Besides, I take some occasional projects of written translations with the input materials ranging from product catalogs, operating manuals, doctorate thesis, instructional videos & audio files, in various fields such as fashion, music, engineering, education, lifestyle, environment, etc.
Still in language, I have a formal qualification as French language teacher. As a matter of fact, I teach French in Binus University since 2009 and in IFI (Institut Français de l'Indonésie) since 2014.
Moving on to music, more than just a hobby, music is my ultimate passion. I always participate in choral performances since my early teenage years. This activity continues to the university where I had the chance to informally learn to write vocal & music arrangement alongside with my formal study in French language. These informal acquisitions got intensified as I co-founded an acappella group with some fellows (1989). Later on, this group namely Bianglala Voices got the chance to participate in various major music events such as Jak Jazz 2007 & 2008, Java Jazz 2008 & 2009 and, directed by Bintang Indrianto, produced 3 albums. One of the most recent events with him can be viewed by clicking here.
Moving back to my campus years, right after university graduation, I tested my luck in Twilite Chorus audition and got accepted (1995) and participated in many recordings, performances and concerts as part of The Twilite Orchestra, including the album entitled Simfoni Negeriku and the first Indonesian Orchestra to concert in Europe (Bratislava & Berlin, 2012).
Thanks to the aforementioned musical experiences, I often got trusted as vocal arranger, speaker in seminars & workshops about vocal arrangement, jury in various music competitions, choir / vocal group instructor & consultant & instrumental accompanist (piano/guitar).
